There's a wheat field in your ear!

"Can you fathom the mysteries of God?  Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?   They are higher than the heavens--what can you do?  They are deeper than the depths of the grave--what can you know?" Job 11:7, 8

We all have our trials - The Apostle Paul called his a "thorn in the flesh."  I have a few thorns myself, as does most everyone.  Right now my biggest thorn by far is ringing in my ears that goes on 24/7.  Having to listen to constant high-pitched sounds (and no, you can't turn down the volume) robs you of your peace - and eventually affects your peace of mind.  Believe it or not, I've had people ask me if earplugs would help to block the noise.  Since it comes from inside my head earplugs would only magnify the sound.  Most of the time I can cope with it but there are days when it gets LOUD and I worry that I'll go stark raving mad.

Taking a drive helps. When I'm in my car listening to music I don't hear all the racket as much.  Recently I experienced an especially noisy day so I decided to go for a walk in the mall.  Shopping helps too.  I have to admit I was sort of depressed.  Not enough to find a bridge to jump off of or anything; I just felt gloomy.

Before I left the house I had tried to pray, but no words came.  So in my car on the way to the mall I said, "God speak to me.  Tell me everything will be OK."  Seconds later He spoke to me through the lyrics in a song on the radio.  After it ended He said to me, "It's OK, I'm here."  Not in an audible voice, of course.  It was more of an impression.  The important thing is that the words were reassuring and felt like healing salve on an open wound.  The Creator of the universe heard my feeble plea and whispered in my mind that He was with me.

Jesus said, "I will never leave you or forsake you."  And He meant it.

Most of us don't care much about what's going on inside our ears until something goes haywire.  I am no exception.  When it comes to my health I'm proactive so I logged on to the Internet and read up on my "thorn."  What I found out will astound you:

Just beyond the protective earwax are three chambers. In the third chamber, called the inner ear,
