The most recent setback encountered in the attempt to educate the public against this tyrannical authority was experienced in Georgia. A Federal Court ruled unconstitutional a sticker that had been placed in public school science textbooks by an enlightened public. The sticker contained the following statement: "This textbook contains material on evolution. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered." While everything in this sticker statement is either objectively true or philosophically valid, it constituted a direct threat to the worldview of Darwinian fundamentalists. Darwinists subscribe to the doctrines of naturalist and/or materialistic philosophy and cannot tolerate a statement that implied that their fundamental beliefs might not be factually true. Accordingly they called on the courts to protect them from this dangerous outbreak of objectivity. In spite of the fact that a large number of working scientists and the vast majority of American citizens support the concept of intelligent design or creation, the entrenched Darwinian minority in academia is fighting vehemently to keep its brand of naturalistic fundamentalism in control of the origins science curriculum. The Darwinian fundamentalists are not about to give up the fertile recruiting grounds in our public schools without a fight. Lip service may be paid to careful study, open mindedness and critical analysis but these philosophical objectives are obviously not applicable when it comes to their naturalistic/materialistic belief system. This round may be lost for now in Georgia, but an educated public is becoming more and more aware of the motives and tactics of Darwinism. The fight against the tyranny of Darwinian fundamentalism is far from over.
